These terms explain how you may use GapCheckUK. By creating an account, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Service
GapCheckUK provides structured self-assessment tools to help organisations identify potential UK compliance-readiness gaps, understand priorities, create actions, organise supporting evidence, and track progress. Data protection is the foundation of V1, with relevant controls from other areas where applicable.
2. Not legal advice
The service provides general informational guidance. It is not legal advice, certification, an audit, or a guarantee of compliance.
3. Eligibility and your information
You must provide accurate account, company, and assessment information and have permission to submit information on behalf of your organisation. You must be legally able to enter into these terms.
4. Account security
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure, using a strong password, and notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
5. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, attempt unauthorised access, upload unlawful material, or use the service to cause harm.
6. Your content
You retain responsibility for the information, documents, answers, and notes you upload. You give us permission to process that content only as needed to provide, secure, and improve the service.
7. Plans and payments
Any paid plan, price, renewal term, cancellation right, and applicable taxes will be shown before purchase. Stripe processes subscription payments. Paid subscriptions renew according to the checkout terms unless cancelled. You can cancel renewal from Billing; cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current paid period, so Premium access is not cut short unless the provider or law requires otherwise.
8. Free checks and accounts
You may start the short free check without an account. Anonymous answers are temporary and do not produce a saved or persistent Gap Score. You must create and verify an account to save results, calculate and retain your score, continue the full assessment, and access account features.
9. Intellectual property
GapCheckUK and its underlying software, design, content, and branding belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-transferable right to use the service for your organisation while your account is active.
10. Availability and changes
We may improve, change, or temporarily suspend parts of the service for maintenance, security, or operational reasons. We will aim to communicate material changes clearly.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, GapCheckUK is not responsible for losses caused by reliance on self-assessment results, service interruptions, inaccurate information supplied by you, or events outside our reasonable control.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or create a security or legal risk. Provisions intended to continue after termination will remain effective.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless another mandatory law applies to you.
